Around 4 or 5 years ago I was really impressed when, during a demonstration at a show, I watched as the owner poured water onto the outside of one of their base layers and the droplets slipped off like water off a ducks back. I was even more impressed when she turned the garment inside out and the water soaked in and went through to the outside leaving the inside dry to the touch. A few weeks later I had three long sleeve tops and a pair of leggings delivered, and 4 or 5 years later they still keep me incredibly warm and dry.
